I learned today via Twitter that Elizabeth Edwards has passed away. I want to encourage everyone to consider a donation to the foundation the Edwards family founded to honor their son Wade, who was killed at age 16 in a car crash.
Via HuffPo I learned that the family is asking that in lieu of flowers or donations to the American Cancer Society, people consider donating to her family’s foundation.
We here at Needham Consulting are going to do exactly that.
We’ll match the first $500 in donations made by friends on Facebook and Twitter. If you make a donation, please let us know through the usual channels: Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, or commenting here. Once we’ve received word that $500 has been donated to the family’s foundation, we’ll match it.
The foundation was started in 1996 to honor Wade, the Edwards’ 16-year-old son who was killed in a car crash.
Donations can be made to the Wade Edwards Foundation can be made online, through a PayPal account, or checks can be mailed to 714 St. Mary’s St. Raleigh, N.C. 27605.
So make your donations, let us know, and we’ll match it, dollar for dollar, for the first $500 donated.
